Happy Pokémon Day everyone! Nintendo have just held a Direct which gives us our first look at 2019’s Pokémon games Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. These new games will be the first proper Pokémon RPG’s on the Switch and are scheduled for release in late 2019. The setting for these new titles and Generation 8 is the Galar region (see below) which features a selection of different environments and looks pretty picturesque! We didn’t get to see an awful lot of Gen 8, all we’ve seen so far are the three starters which you can see below and of course, Meltan who debuted in Pokémon GO last year. On the subject of starters, they all look pretty cool with my personal favourite being Grookey as it looks pretty chill. Aside from this though that’s all we got, the trailer gives us a decent look at the Galar Region, but we don’t know anything of the story, Pokémon or new features. It looks like more of the same which of course, isn’t an issue as Ill eat up new Pokémon content all day. I personally think ill be going for Sword as I do have more of an attacking playstyle but ill wait to see which legendries each game has first. Check out the trailer below

So, we now finally know a bit about this years Pokémon RPG’s! I’m sure we will be drip fed more news as the year progresses up until launch!
